We started Deposely because we saw a massive gap between the importance of legal work and the quality of the tools lawyers use to do it. We believe that the people protecting our legal systems deserve software that is as ambitious as they are.

We launched Deposely with three simple goals:

What We’re Building

We’re an early-stage team at the intersection of technology and law. We’re driven by a simple reality: legal work is vital to protecting everyday people, yet the industry’s tech is underdeveloped. With the rise of AI, we finally have the tools to change that.

The problem we’re solving: You’ve seen it on shows like Suits where a lawyer sits across from a witness, a camera rolls, and the questioning begins. That’s a deposition. But unlike TV, the reality involves hundreds of hours of grueling preparation, manual review, and high costs.

Deposely automates this workflow, saving lawyers and their clients significant time and money while improving their chances of success.

About the Role:

As our Senior Security Engineer, you will be the owner of infrastructure security at Deposely. You’ll work directly with the CTO and engineering team to evaluate, harden, and scale our cloud environment. This is a hands-on role where you’ll balance speed and security in a modern, AI-enabled product environment. You’ll be responsible not only for protecting what exists today, but for designing systems and practices that will support Deposely as we scale customers, data, and compliance requirements.

What You’ll Do

Security & Compliance

• Audit our existing GCP infrastructure for security risks and vulnerabilities

• Design and implement best practices for a SOC 2 and HIPAA-compliant environment

• Review code deployment that has security implications

• Own cloud security posture, identity and access management, and secrets handling

• Partner with leadership on security strategy, risk mitigation, and compliance readiness

Collaboration & Enablement

• Work closely with application engineers to bake security into development workflows

• Establish guardrails that allow teams to move fast without compromising security

• Document systems, decisions, and best practices for a growing engineering org

Role Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Security Engineering roles

• Hands-on experience securing GCP environments

• Experience securing enterprise applications, including authentication protocols, API security, and vulnerability management

• Experience leading or meaningfully contributing to SOC 2 and/or HIPAA compliance efforts

• Experience integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelines (SAST, secrets scanning, etc.)

• Experience with security monitoring, alerting, and incident response workflows.

• Ability to think proactively about threat models, not just reactive fixes

• Comfortable working closely with founders and influencing technical direction

• Ability to thrive in early-stage environments where ownership matters

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (like Pulumi) to audit and enforce secure configurations.

• Experience supporting AI or data-heavy platforms

• Experience working at a high-growth SaaS company before.

• Prior experience in an early-stage startup.

• Familiarity with legal, healthcare, or other regulated domains

Compensation Range: $175K - $195K
